POEMS

You know how, when you have a lot of things to write about, sometimes you just don't do it because it seems like a big task? That's what I've been doing. I wrote a long post about my trip to the zoo, which got eaten somehow. Then I started to write about my trip to Longleat in which monkeys tried to eat the car (true story!) and it was just too much.

So anyway, I just ran across this poem that I wrote when trying to create an example of Very Bad Poetry, and so I'm going to just post it here for your (dubious) enjoyment:

Ode to the Mole on My Left Knee

My eyes are drawn to you
again and again
brown on a field of white
out of place
silently
defying
the lighter pigments
surrounding you.
What do you feel
sitting there alone
your one brown eye
staring back at me
unblinking
quiet
and very possibly
malignant?
