ANOTHER WEEKEND

Friday. What did I do Friday? I don't remember. Oh, wait, yes I do--I went to the pub after work, because this is what I do on Fridays, apparently. YET AGAIN I had the following conversation with a coworker (different coworker from last time)

Mike: Yeah, so those guys on that dating show sued when they found out that the 'girl' they were competing for is actually a man. But geez, for $10,000? I'd kiss a guy for $10,000.

Me: My friend, Sarah, and I were saying, it's not a question of what I *would* do with another girl for $10,000. It's a question of, what *wouldn't* I do with another girl for $10,000?

Mike: Whoa. Wait, I think I might have that much on my credit card.

I know, it's not that interesting a story, but the idea that two completely different people said *the exact same thing* in response to what I said is kind of amazing.

Oh, wait, they're men. Never mind.

Saturday I got up and went to the gym. I am fairly certain that this is one of the signs of the apocalypse. At any rate, I hadn't thought I was working out that hard, but when I got back to my flat, I had a really hard time washing my hair because my arms wouldn't move above my shoulders. I'd try to jerk my body around to propel them skyward using momentum, but it didn't work.

I then spent the rest of the day composing music for ICS. This was an amazing session. No, I don't mean that I made good music, because the stuff I do for ICS is total rubbish. (Do you like the way I say this so that it sounds like the stuff I do *outside* of ICS might not be rubbish? Don't be fooled by such clever tricks.) But the last few times I've tried to do something musically, it's been total artist angst hell, and this time it was like what music is supposed to be like--you know, fun and wonderful and life-affirming and just thoroughly enjoyable.

Sunday I got up at 5 am for the listening party, which was just as much fun as usual. I love, love, love my lodge. Then I took a nap. Afterwards, I got up and went to a home show with my friend, Sarah. Everyone there assumed that we were lesbians shopping for our new house. It was very strange. Walked for eight hours, went to a pub, went home, crashed.
