I just had the following conversation with Natalie:

Natalie: A Pirates of the Caribbean DVD? I haven't seen this. Thank you!

Me: You'll like it.

Natalie: It has Johnny Depp in it! I love Johnny Depp.

Me: Yes, I know. He's fabulous. It also has Orlando Bloom.

Natalie: Who?

Me: Orlando Bloom.

Natalie: Who's he?

Me: Have you seen Lord of the Rings?

Natalie: Yes.

Me: He's the elf.

[pause]

Natalie: [uncomprehending]The elf? [in hushed tones] He's...Legolas?

Me: Yes.

Natalie: Goodbye.

Me: I thought you might like that.

Natalie: I'm serious. Goodbye.

[hangs up]
