PUPPIES ON A ROLL
Willo asked me what was exotic and exciting in this land, so I wrote the following:
Something exotic and exciting from this faraway land?
Oh, I have it.
My friends over here have spent a fair number of hours taunting me about all things American, which is to be expected. They laugh about funny brand names, Jerry Springer, etc. etc.
I feel strongly that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
To wit:
There is a toilet paper brand here, called Andrex. Their marketing slogans, commercials, and product packaging revolve around the theme of "Soft and strong, like a puppy."
Who came up with this? "Hmm, what can I wipe my ass with? Oh, I know, how about A PUPPY?!"
My boyfriend keeps buying their toilet rolls because they are called "Puppies on a roll," and he knows this horrifies me.
I will take a photo of the packet for your amusement later, and post it.
So, as promised, here is the photo:

"Puppies on a roll" seems to imply what you've left behind after using it.

Will, that is a most excellent point, and one which I hadn't thought of. Sorry--one of which I hadn't thought.
